Divorce is heart-breaking, painful and expensive. As someone who has been through this awful experience, I'm giving this advice to save others from ending up more stressed and out-of-pocket than they need to be.
I know someone who had to pay another attorney to fix what this lawyer should have taken care of in the first place. This woman ended up a little better off at the end of it, but only after spending a ton of money. Sometimes having an attorney who isn't even a tiny bit mediation-minded isn't the best thing for everyone - especially when there are kids involved.
