Helming's Auto Repair is a family owned local business and Mike, the owner is committed to providing exceptional service at a reasonable price. They can fix cars that other shops have struggled with and will not try and sell you stuff you do not need.

My husband and I have taken our cars exclusively to Helming’s for years, ever since Mike was able to quickly diagnose and correct a problem that three other shops and hundreds of dollars couldn’t fix. They are conveniently located and competitively-priced, and their honesty about what needs to be fixed and what can wait is much appreciated. Wish we had found them sooner!

Helmings is cautious about performing possibly needless work and so does not take the approach of replacing parts in an effort to discover a solution at my cost. This alone is important enough for me to take time to comment. Satisfaction is not an issue because they seem not just willing but eager to get things right and to listen. I think that they enjoy a high-percentage of return business, which makes them more credible to me. Above everything else I want to think that I am not being taken advantage of because nowadays it is difficult to tell.

We have taken our cars to Helmings for years. We have experienced excellent service each time. Their work has been thorough and their customer service consistently exceeds our expectations. I wouldn't take our cars anywhere else.

I have used Helmings for years on both our cars. We always receive good service and it's affordable compared with the dealerships. The last time my car broke down, I barely made it to the shop for repair. The owner (Mike Reelfs) stayed late at the shop and waited for me to arrive and my husband to pick me up. I prefer to give my business to family owned businesses like Helmings.

We had 2 different cars repaired at Helmings and both times they did a terrible job. The first time we had to bring the car back 3 times to correct an oil leak because they didn't put things back correctly. We tried again with another car that was having alternator problems (he check battery light kept coming on). They did some tests and they told me there was no problem (actually, they ended up doing the brakes because they said we needed them, though now we doubt that) so I took the car out of town and ended up getting stranded. After getting back home (after getting a new alternator) we called Helmings to explain what happened they got very defensive, never apologized and tried to blame me! I would never take another car there.
