A good bookstore. I especially like the one at the stanford shopping mall because of its convenience. Once went there and the clerk was very rude and not helpful. But we never had any other problems.

Books Inc is one of the few remaining independent bookstore chains. The Mountain View store is lovely: there's a special room at the back lined with picture books to chapter books, and specialty subject books. It has bench seating for children to sit and read, and something about it - maybe it's size - that keeps all kids reasonably quiet, or acts to ensure the parents keep the kids quiet. Upstairs there's a nice little cafe and there's even a bathroom too (essential with kids, right).
