The [CD] music had a variety of rhythms in a variety of styles, presents something for everyone. My son is not old enough to sing along yet, but seemed to enjoy them in that they settled him down in the car.

The Five Senses [DVD] does a nice job of explaining the part of the body related to each sense. My daughters enjoyed the kids dancing and recognized some of the music. Eye Candy feels more like a retread, or the long version, of the eye sequence in the first DVD. My girls liked it, but it wasn't as interesting to them as The Five Senses. The relationship between the body parts and the brain was confusing to them - did they all come from the same body? Were they friends, or just hanging out? And the brain's role was unclear - just there to speak and explain the scene, or was it connected to the body part so then it could interpret the stimuli, or...?

I applaud your efforts to do something better than Baby Einstein. I think you are on the right track, but I did not personally enjoy the DVD and did not find it to be the right fit for my 3 year old daughter. This is better geared for younger kids. I would include discussion ideas so that parents know that this is not to be a passive activity for the kids.

My children were absolutely enthralled with the dvds and I really enjoyed the music and simplicity of them. My intention was to only have the two younger daughters watch them, but my 5 1/2 year old son wanted to watch too. He started out by saying that these were for babies, but amazingly, sat through them both and was helping my 3 year old with some of the words and colors. Just prior to watching the BrainCandy dvd, my 17 month old was cranky, tired and crying unless she was being held. Once the video started though, she immediately stopped and was just mesmerized. Both my daughters would dance around and clap to the music and my 3 year old tried to answer all the questions in the Eyecandy video. Her only negative comment was "ewww, gross" when Bruce Brain and Ivy Eye were first introduced. Not sure if this is just a stage she's going through.

I enjoyed the CD, but not sure that I would necessarily go out and buy it for our purposes. I think I might rather prefer my children to watch the video and dance around to it. It seems like it would be more fun with the visuals. We listened to the CD at naptime and not all of it was calming or “sleepy enough”.

The variety of interesting images, colors and movement really kept my daughter entertained. The music was well coordinated with the video. My daughter danced when she saw the children in the video dance. She laughed when she saw the puppet. I like that it kept my daughter's attention while still being educational. Although the [CD] music went well with the DVD, it only served as background music when listening to the CD.

The puppet skits are very original. As an adult, I cannot say I enjoyed the DVDs, but I appreciate how the DVDs try to illustrate the five senses and how a child experiences the five senses through the puppet skits and video clips. I like the video clips because they give me fresh ideas for how to stimulate my child's sense of smell, taste, etc. The CD is pleasant to listen to. After watching the skits on the DVDs, listening to selected excerpts on the CD causes me to recall the scenes from the skits.
