We applied to the Waldorf school and seriously considered it for our son. It is a gift of an education where students can learn through all senses. They don't just talk the talk like many schools, they actually walk the walk. Reading is not taught until 1st grade and even then, at a pace that is developmentally appropriate for the children. We decided to send our son to a different school for a religious education. It was a difficult decision because we loved the Waldorf school.

Our son attended nursery school and is now in kindergarten and our daughter is in grade 7, and they both love it. Waldorf follows a specific curriculum and method of teaching based on the philosophy and teachings of Rudolph Steiner. They teach the whole student: body, soul and mind. You can search "Waldorf" and "Rudolph Steiner" to get more info on the actual curriculum and philosophy, but suffice it to say that our children are happy and we think they are receiving a meaningful education that will serve them well throughout high school, college, and beyond
