Karie Bennett has been one of the South Bay's top hairdressers for the past 25 years. She opened Atelier, a flagship Aveda salon at Santana Row almost 5 years ago. I followed her there and have been very impressed at the level of talent she attracts, trains, and maintains. She seems to have a great sense of her salon culture, and she also knows everyone! The papers called her the mayor of Santana Row. She is so friendly and good-hearted, helpful to a fault, that who couldn't help but like her? She has had her hands in some famous hair, but finds it just as important to make plain ol' me beautiful as well. She's a talent, inside and out. At $125 per haircut, she has the highest price around, but a stellar stylist should charge a lofty rate. The cuts and colors are that good, and she is very interesting to talk to! But if you can't get into her packed schedule, ask for one of her prote'ge's...they learned at the hands of the master!
