Great school. Very diverse, gives a good amount of AP courses, clubs are enticing, and the performing arts department is amazing. In my opinion, the musicals and plays are better than School of the Arts.

El Camino High is actually one of the best schools in terms of rigorous academics. The teachers work hard and are generally more than glad to help out the students. The social studies department contains an excellent staff of talented, intriguing teachers who really want students to participate and become independent learners. Life science at El Camino is great, the teachers want to help you when tackling concepts or problems. Specific English teachers try to bring the genius out of students by encouraging them to be creative with their writing

El Camino has extremely diverse clubs and activities available, it's teachers are amazing people who teach just as much about life and the world, as they do about their appointed subject. Of course there are always a few exceptions, but for the most part El Camino is a very fun place to go to school. Of course it all depends on the students around you. If your class as a whole is excited to be there and gets involved, it's the best place in the world to be. If you don't take advantage of all the opportunities offered then your experience will not be as rewarding or memorable. A lot of the teachers there will become friends and contacts for life. :) (there's a new principal now so I really don't know how she will work out, things are changing but the positive effect has yet to be seen.)

I just graduated from there but I did not like it because the class of 2006 had to pass alot of test in order to graduate and the food was disgusting. Thats about it

When I was a student it was a great school. I've been by and know a few students who have attended and they say the same.

ElCamino c/o 2002. I will admit that we aren't as prepared academically as students in other schools, but we learn more things about real life than others do. ElCamino has plenty of opportunities for students (band, leadership, clubs, athletics etc) and I took full advantage of all of them. Let your kids know that you get as much out of school (and life) as you put in. You can blame the school for not preparing you, but you must also take blame for not helping yourself prepare. The leadership class is one of the top leadership classes out there, which means there are plenty of chances for students to be a part of things and to have experiences that other schools don't have (great rallies, homecoming, etc). So much to say but only 150words. ElCamino gets my thumbs up!

I went to this school from 2000 to 2004. Great teachers, decent food, and great environment to learn.
