Gunderson is basically a school with no college ready classes. The majority of the kids don't care about school and are just there to socialize. Gunderson just lacks everything good you wantst your child to gain out of school. I do not recomment this school.

The parent involvement at this school is a minium and parents are only seen when there is a situation .Involvement is low, the sports programs are decent, but more often than not the students from gunderson use bad sportsmanship toards other teams.

Gunderson has some great teachers, and administration that works hard with and for the students. Gunderson is held back by the stereotype of past events and reputation. The laptop program is great, but is better if the parent involvement at home helps serve the purpose. The large turn over rate of students makes it hard for extra-curricular to flourish, but there is dedication from staff. Because of past events and a 'perception' they have Zero tolerance for aggressive or violent behavior. It gets nipped and samcked down fast! I have one son at Gunderson and another at Pioneer. As far as discipline goes, I am much more impressed with Gundersons approach.

I was nervous about my daughter going to Gunderson and I must say I am very happy happy with her education.

Gunderson High School is an exceptional school were students can get the opportunity to use the most up-to-date technology and get to experience a learning environment that is very diverse. With many Advance Placement classes, Gunderson High enables students to challenge themselves and further prepare themselves for college. Their extracurricular activites stretch from many community service clubs, to cultural awardness clubs as well. For the past 4-years Ive attended Gunderson High School, I've experienced many good memories that I doubt would not happend if I had choosen elsewhere. One of the main things I loved most about this school is its great amount of different races within the school. I have expanded my knowledge here not only academicly, but also socially because of the fact that you get to interact with so many different people and ideologies.
