My children hated going to school every day! They didn't like their teachers and the students on campus were rude.I feel that the academic programs needed work.

There is a great deal of parent involvement in this school. The Class of 2006, graduated the most Valedictorians in Santa Clara County and other surrounding counties as well (as per the Mercury News, check it out yourself). That speaks for itself! They have a great band and good athletics, but I feel they need to give more to girls athletics. Overall, this is a great school. Note there is a new principal this year.

I believe, as with any school, you get out of it what you put into it. I have had three boys attend leigh high school. All three are different personalities and all three have had totally different experiences. Parents have to be their own children's advocates. If there is something you do not like about leigh, then speak up and get it changed. There are a few members of the staff who cringe when they hear my name, but our experience with leigh has been great. There have been bumps in the road, but you have to teach your children to hit those bumps, pick themselves back up and continue on the path that they have chosen. I personally had a wonderful experience with the resource program at leigh (I can not say that about union middle school)! Go longhorns!

Leigh High School has a wonderful music program, although I am saddened by the loss of students being able to enjoy a wide variety of electives.

As a parent of a freshman, I was concerned if my son would be lost. Found that there are many different activies available from the traditional sports and music to many clubs. Teachers are accessible. Wished all teachers used the online tools such as Aeries and Schooloop to check on grades and assignments - right now about 66% of my son's teaches use it. Found teachers to be very accessible

I am pretty disappointed. The school is mediocre. Students are not pushed to higher levels academically.

Leigh's outstanding academic reputation is justified based on our daughter's experience. The girls sports program (soccer) is also well run is blessed with good teachers. Our decision to move in to Leigh's attendance area has been justified.

Began very optimistically based on what I had heard 5 years ago when my son entered leigh high school...Over the years, my satisfaction continued to drop significantly mainly due to lack of leadership at principal and administration. Seem to be more interested in their own political agendas than success of students. Just my 2 cents.

Academically sound, campus needs an upgrade!

A traditional high school best suited for traditional learners. Less interest seems to be taken in those students who require additional learning support. Many parents seem to be actively involved.

I have two sons that go to Leigh. One is a senior and will be graduating this year and the other is a Junior. If you have kids that don't need encouragement to speak up in the classroom, already know where they're going after high school and how to get there, Leigh is for you. However, if you have kids that need encouragement, motivation and/or extra attention go elsewhere!

Overall decent school, safe environment, administration was lacking and or incompetent. Counselors were useless.

I graduated in 2003, and I was not pleased with the administration. My counselor told me that since I scored well on PSATs my soph year, I shouldn't retake junior year. What he didn't tell me is that jr year scores count for scholarships, like the National Merit Scholarship. For those whose parents are involved, it's a much more rewarding experience, but for those students such as myself who had to fend for themselves for four years, the administration let us down. While I attended Leigh, it seemed like every other week was a teacher strike. Quite sad, really, since we had great teachers, and some of them were let go because of financial reasons. Leigh has one of the best faculties. I have absolutely 0 complaints regarding the faculty during my 4 year stay. I highly recommend Honors English classes, especially when taught by John White or Allison Duffy.

Leigh seems to be a good school overall. They are established and have strong leadership from their principal.

If your child has special education needs, you'd be wise to avoid Leigh High School or any school in the Campbell Union district, otherwise the school is excellent. My son has multiple disabilities and would be fine with a few simple services but they've provided nothing even though required by law. There are no RSP classes at Leigh and no one-on-one RSP's or aides available, at least that is what they tell us. For his RSP class in organizational & study skills last year (part of his IEP) they parked him in the back of a classroom to work unsupervised on homework while the teacher taught another class. We've now had to hire an attorney, which we can't afford but apparently that is the only way to get this district to follow the law under IDEA. In the meantime my son is left to flounder on his own...

Good academic programs. Some issues with budget cuts. Grounds needs to be cleaner. Excellent teachers and reknown band program.

Current program allows students to have A-B days. 3 classes per day (instead of 6) which have longer instruction and allow students to do some work in class. I was suprised how many classes are credited to the UC system, including Advanced Placement classes. Great parents and lots of sports & art programs.

Music progam is great. Sports are great too. The school's academic progam is excellent. I dont think the level of parent involvment is that high, I think more parents should get involved with more activties and other things like that. Also, parents should help their kids more. Talk to them and see if there child needs help. Thank You.
