I think the principal just cares about his reputation in the community and doesn't take care of the school. There's no communication among the teachers. I'll ask my kid's teachers about cell phone policy, attendance policy, and get 6 different answers! Also, the discipline here is nearly non-existent. I'm switching my kids to a private school. They do have a great band program though.

Many choices of classes to choose from. Most teachers are pretty good. Very good science dept. Large campus is good so that it can prepare you for college. Also, I think larger class sizes can teacher students how to become more independent and work for themselves. There is plenty of help if your child needs it. Overall, it is a very good school.

Academics -Milpitas HS is a wonderful academic institution that encourages all their graduates to attend college. Most end up attending a UC such as UC Berkeley or UC Davis however we do have years with outstanding students who go to more prestigious schools such as Stanford or MIT. -The school offers many AP and Honors classes to prepare you for college and I think a lot of students take advantage of it. -I am a student at UC Davis now and I think that Milpitas HS has really helped me prepare for the rigors of college. Extracurriculars -We had a fantastic football program the year that I played for Milpitas however the program has seemed to take a nose dive since then. -There are tons of programs that students can get involved in including honors societies and social clubs. Parent involvement -I can't comment on this because I don't really know for sure.

This school is good, the students all have a great form of salutation toward visiting people. I have three daughters who have attended this school, they all are leading their lives successfully now.

My son is a freshmen, so this year he needs the proper guidance to do well in advancing to each new level for the years to come. I am not impressed with the way the first semester started out. The first Orientation they had during school was a big mix up for alot of the kids. The class he was in before attending the orientation did not specify if he should return to the same class or go on to the next period. He received his first cut along with half of the other students in his class. What a great way to get started. When I asked the Teacher why this happened the reply was, 'I thought they all knew what to do.'
