I am new to this school. From what I see the positive changes to this school. I believe it is on the right track.

This, in my opinion, is one of the best schools in California. One of the most spectacular aspects of this school is the 'scthjp' or in other words, the Silver Creek Thunderously Hip Japanese Program. This is a program that looks good on transcripts towards UCs and is headed by Matt Hall, a former Stanford Graduate. This program is ranked top ten in the world! Year after year, this program leads or is top 5 in the national Japan Bowl. That, in my opinion is an amazing feat. Furthermore, the program is fun for students and includes sushi days, annual trip to Japan, and even a homestay event. This program makes silver creek stronger, along with the many AP classes that are offered. The teachers are freindly and are willing to talk to parents. This is a great school!

Great school with great programs. Offers more AP classes than any other school in the district with great teachers to bring the best out of its students. Last year there were 12 valedictorians. Competitive academic environment where students always strive to do their best -a former student

My daughter had to apply for another school because she felt she has become stagnant in her studies here. Rules are lax and there's not enough challenge.

Though noted for its ap classes and academic excellence, silver creek high school lacks in unity among the students and order and discipline during school functions, such as fantastics.

The real quality of Silver Creek is underrated. There are plenty of academic opportunities given to the students and many excellent teachers! Not only does Silver Creek excel in an academic sense, its extracurriculars are extraordinary as well. SCHS's ASB puts on a spectacular nearly 100% student-ran Homecoming and fantastic every year. The students at Silver Creek are indubitably prepared for the college environment from inside the AP classrooms to the programs and activities there that structure their independence and adulthood.

Due to budget cuts, some valuable programs are suffering. My students wanted to take Drama, but that program was cut one year ago. My student is constantly participating in a fundraiser...

This school is better then expected. My daughter is involved in sports and clubs and is having a productive and fun freshman year. She has not had any gang related encounters or felt threatened or intimitated at any time. These were my biggest fears. Acadmeically she is being successful, her major complaints are regarding inability to hear announcements and homework being given at the bell. The school is addressing these issues through it's web site and the future looks positive.
