Based on what I have observed the projects that are assigned do not have a substantial amount of quality requirements; too much coloring, drawing, etc is involved and not enough core subject matter. Less emphasis needs to be placed on the music and sports programs and more on the academics. Better electives need to be provided. The principal is very response to issues that arise.

The teachers are so wonderful, and you really get to bond with them. Many of them I consider more as friends than teachers. The academic programs are great! I was in an accelerated math class my 8th grade year and that totally prepared me for high school. The drama department is awesome, and the plays turn our great. I still go back to BIS to see the plays even though I'm a soph. in high school! Anyways, this is an awesome school to go to.

BIS, as with most schools, has both good and bad teachers. A student's experience there depends a great deal upon which 'team' you get. In my child's team she has one good teacher, one ok, and one who is quite terrible (doesn't know the subject matter, doesn't seem to care about it or the kids). I have heard good things about the school; I have also heard some terrible things about the school. In my direct experience I would have to say that it is just ok.

Since my son has being at BIS I have never seeing him so happy about going to school every day I am so Pleased with his teachers and everyone that has helped him discover that school is a wonderful place to be to learn and make friendships. Thank You BIS

My oldest child completed his first year of school at BIS last year. It was a terrifice year. The trio of teachers he had offered him a variety of teaching styles and personalities. He also had enough homework to keep him occupied consistently. The music program went through a teacher change mid year which turned out to be fantastic. The new teacher has returned this year. The principal is a great guy and truly appreciates parent feedback. Parents are involved but not to the extent as at the elementary schools in Burlingame.

My child had a wonderful three years at BIS. She had great academic success as well as strong relationships with teachers. The music dept was great. They instituted a drama dept in her 3rd year, and the sports was really fun.
