This school has numerous problems. The teachers are not well trained in the Carden method and the academics are not up to parr.

This school is behind the times in every way. The school promotes rote memorization but does not promote thinking for one's self. My two children were very unprepared for high school, especially in the areas of math and science. Parents are expected to contribute their time and money (in addition to tuition.) If you are looking for a school where your child will pass, no matter what their actual performance, this is the school for you!

This school really enforces discipline. The students seem intelligent but not especially happy.

My daughter is in Jr. Kindergarten and so far I have been really happy with Carden. She has made a huge improvement in writing letters and numbers in only a few months. The teachers are great and seem to really care about each child. I also love the fact the kids get a music teacher, art teacher, science teacher, French teacher and PE teacher that come to their class once a week.

Quality of academics in Language Arts is of very high quality. French and English are manditory from Grade 1. This really helped my son to develop interest in language and arts. We were happy with the school in all respects. Little more emphasis on Science during the elementary school is desirable.

Carden is an excellent private school. My daughter was there for grade K-8. Academically, she has been very strong in both math and reading. She's in a public school now and enroll in purely AP (advance placement) classes. This is a testament to her excellent education at Carden El Encanto. The faculty is very caring and attentive to every student. I would highly recommend this school.

Carden El Encanto School has been a wonderful, nourishing, almost second home environment for my children to be when they are not with me. The teachers, staff and administration are totally committed to a safe and respectful student body. Each child's strengths are encouraged and they can even receive one on one attention in areas of need. The academics are kept current and very competitive, ( above the national norms), and have prepared them well for the challenges they are now experiencing in High School. They are even planning ahead for college early! My children are secure, confident and well-educated. I could not ask for more. I guess that is why Carden El Encanto has been here for 33 years!

No school is perfect, however, I do believe that there is a perfect school for every child out there and Carden happens to be that place for my son. No where else in the Bay Area would he have gotten the special attention he required in order to succeed. I felt that the teachers and staff were interested in his advancement in all areas of life, not just high scores on some aptitude test. Being a private school they do not feel the pressure to perform well on any state rating. They can focus on our children, just as it should be. There may be other schools out there, but as far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I love the extended care program at Carden. Its very reasonably priced and we pay only for the days that we use it. Since they have so many after school activities to choose from the children do not miss out on anything by being in school. Of course we like the curriculum and the nurturing environment.
