For the past three years my son has nothing but the best quality environment for him to thrive. The teachers, staff and parents are all on the same page to help children be happy confident children. We couldn't be more happy! Not that we weren't challenged by the thought of other schools but now we are sure we found the school for all three children.

Clifford is a very carring environment. Many of the teacher (the majority) are very good, well trained and enthusiastic. As with many schools in California, Clifford has suffered from shrinking budgets. This problem is successfully countered by a very active Parents Group (similar to a PTA) which has been able to maintain extracurricular activities such as music, drama, sports, computer labs etc. A parcel tax was defeated (by a very close margin) in late 2004 that would have put things in better financial order. It is expected that a new measure will be introduced in 2005 to shore up funding issues.

Clifford is a great school with wonderful teachers that have been around for years. Clifford has a close community where parents and staff get along very well. Many of the staff have had their own children and grandchildren attend Clifford. The teachers do a good job teaching to many different levels. There is a lot of singing and art in Kindergarten and 1st grade. There is a marine science emphasis with a dedicated science teacher for the lower grades. There is very strong parent support that provides a lot of extras around the school. Volunteers are welcome and encouraged in the classroom. The downside is that money is lacking at the school so that some of the extras that used to be provided for by the district/state have gone away. Parents continue to try to pay for extras or do extra volunteer hours to make up the difference in staffing.
