I am really unimpressed with the new principal. She makes little effort to connect with students. Would like there to be more after school opportunities and homework help. Often doesn't seem like the teachers are all on the same track. They do express a lot of care, though.

School is very unsettled. Many significant changes and very poor leadership. Academics and support for special ed is not the priority here. The kids are running the school and know that the leadership and discipline is lacking.

Administrators are not familiar with the current IDEA or laws as they pertain to special education. Strong leadership from a special education director is needed here.

I am actually a student here in Columbia and I am rather unimpressed with the interaction between the teachers and schools. Another problem is the food. Columbia seems to provide little quality when presenting food-it is not culturally diverse.

Overall a good school. Some staff and teachers truly care. Assistant Principal Mr. G is wonderful always open to talk in regards to any concern you may have and very supportive. Staff is friendly and very helpful.

Overall columbia middle is a very good school. My child studied here in 6th and 7th grade here. I am happy with kind of support I got from teachers and other staff.

I say this is one of the best schools I have seen. My daughter is supported by all the teachers she has and the teachers really care when the students struggle. One of the best schools.
