My older child graduated from Graham and is doing very well at Mountain View High, a highly-regarded high school. She had, overall, excellent teachers, made great friends. Her greatest gains were in math and science, which has become her passion after 3 great science teachers at Graham. Regarding the environment: She never saw any fights in 3 years there. I'm sure occasional fist fights happen (they happened at her mostly-white, upper-middle-class elementary school occasionally, too), but the common perception that violence and racism is rampant is way off-base. My younger child is there now, and I expect that she also will have a good experience at Graham. Overall, very happy with the school.

This school is pretty good. But I was not happy about the principal. The activities there are great and the sports are really clear your mind. I love this school and I will be out of here in about a year. ~Christopher Schulz

This is our second year at Graham, we have been very happy. Our daughter is a socially shy, high-achieving student, and I was concerned that this large and socio-economically diverse middle school would be overwhelming for her. She has thrived there, academically and socially.

A very large school that has seen it's ups and downs. The school has wonderful staff, but the student body is too big to give anyone but the very upper or kids who need alot of help any attention. Sports programs are great as well as theater and music, but academics suffer for the 'average student'. Communication between teachers and parents varies dramaticly by individual teacher. Level of real help and caring, attention to a student with academic problems, very common school issues varies greatly. My children have experienced violence at school and heard very negative racial comments. The dress code is not enforced. After 2 children as students and 2 years at this school we are leaving for a more positive environment with more individual attention and a more wholesome place to learn.
