Very good math program. Parents teach Art in Action. Weak music program. Grades 1-3 are great. However, there is a fair amount of bullies in grades 4-8. PTA is very actvi. 2 new playgrounds. Great Library and Computers. Private extended care program on site. No a good place for kids with LD

My son is in 2nd grade and so far I moderately like it. He used to go to private Challenger-like school so Roy Cloud is a change for the easer life. Academically, do not expect a lot of challange. Socially, great group of children, nice caring families. Art and encreachment classes like computers, geography, some science, all age- appropriate. Great family fun nights, well organized. Overall among public schools, 9 out of 10 score.

Really good school. Very active PTA. Sad that there is a lottery to get in.

I feel the quality of the academic curriculum is above par and in some aspects reflects a private school education. I'm a parent of a fourth grade girl who has attended since mid-Kindergarten. I've gotten to know the principal & staff very well, and am pleased on their concern for the success of their students.

We found this school very disappointing. Despite generally good reviews from other people, we found the academics really deficient for a gifted child. There is not enough racial diversity. The academics is largely in the 'one size fits all' mold--probably due partly weak funding and to state and federal mandates. Parents are voting with their feet and pocket-books. A huge percentage of neighborhood families send their kids to private schools. All this being said, it's otherwise great, with caring teachers, caring parents, and a friendly feel.

The academic program at Roy Cloud is excellent. My daughter started her K year this year and the principal and teacher involvement is very impressive. All of the parents appear interested in the program and assisting when possible.

My child has been at roy cloud for five years. The first four I'd give the school five stars. This last year, I'd only give one star. I was so pleased w/cloud, not a single doubt until last year. I'd hate to have to change schools.

Roy Cloud School is a gem within the Redwood City School District. They are an award winning school and is very difficult to get into. Roy Cloud is a magnate school specializing in technology. The teachers are first rate and have an excellent retention record. The school goes from K-8 grade and has the standard summer vacation, versus many of the Redwood City schools who have adopted the year round program.

Roy Cloud Elementary is very up to date with their academic programs. They go the extra mile to provide music, art, sports and other extracurricular activities (such as Science Fair and Library events). They solicit parental involvement every month. The school atmosphere is that of caring and respect. It has been a relief to have found a school with these qualities after removing my daughter from a private school.

Roy Cloud is one of the best schools in this district. It has a wonderful sence of community and the fact that it is K-8 allows the children to feel secure and avoid the many problems in the junior high setting.

I have done some substitute teaching at Roy Cloud and found it to be a very well resourced school with friendly staff and well behaved children.
