I went to Peninsula Piano without any real knowledge of what I should rent or buy for my five year old to start lessons. One teacher had told me to buy a keyboard; another said to buy only a piano and never a keyboard; another even said the best thing was to start on a baby grand! Since I have no idea if my child will enjoy piano, renting seemed like the best option. Robert at Peninsula Piano spent a lot of time with me explaining the differences in their rental pianos, and what is most suitable for a beginning child. He's also a teacher, so that was helpful. There was no pressure to rent or buy, just an amazing passion for and knowledge of the piano business, and a genuine desire to meet my child's needs. The deal is that if you rent the piano, you can put the rental fees towards purchasing one at the end of 12 months. They'll also tune it during the rental period if necessary. This company gets full marks for customer service.
