I was having difficulty finding a quality PT nanny on my own so I decided to use Town & Country Resources. They did find me a quality nanny who worked for us for 1 year. When she left I used the agency again and they were quickly able to fill the position with someone fabulous. Town & Country did the initial interviews and reference checks, saving me a lot of time. I feel that their fees are high (15% of gross annual compensation), but it was worth the cost. I also had Town & Country do a Housekeeper search for me which was not as successful.

We worked with Kate at Town and Country and she has been very responsive, finding exactly what we were looking for. We thank Kate for our fabulous Nanny/Family Assistant who has been with us for over a year. We couldn't have asked for a better match and I think Kate is a great 'match maker'. It is a little expensive but most definitely worth it for losing the hassle of reference checking, certification checking, prescreening etc.

I thought this agency was horrible. The did not call back when they said they would. They sent us nannies that were nothing like what we wanted. I found that the staff was young and unprofessional. We ended up using a different agency in Menlo Park that was fantastic. Also all the nannies that we spoke with were also very un-happy with Town and Country. They said that they also did not return their calls and sent then out on very few interviews, when there were plenty of open jobs. After using a different agency, I would never use Town and Country again.

I would never use this agency again. We used town and Country many years ago and it was great. We now have our fifth child, so we went back to them again and we were very dissapointed. The staff was very unprofessional and very unhelpful. Our neighbor used Stanford Park, so we tried them and they were great. Stannford park is owner operated and it shows. The staff was completly helpful, and patient. We found the greatest nanny.

As I wrote in my earlier review I had a housekeeper search with Town & Country that did not go well. They had trouble finding candidates that could meet my criteria and the one person I did hire didn't show up after the first day of work. This left me with a large $2500 credit with the agency. I thought we would use the credit on another search, but we decided to hire back our previous housekeeper. Two years elapsed and I wasn't happy about having a large credit that I could not use. I finally followed up and emailed Kate and the owner of the agency and they promptly mailed me a refund check! Thanks Town & Country.

Town and Country seems wonderful at first, but once I got started with them it turned into a complete nightmare! I chose them because I wanted an agency that would do everything for me and get it taken care of in a professional manner (which we were more than happy to pay for, if they actually did the work). Their staff is young, arrogant, manipulative and basically incompetent. I specified exactly what I was looking for and they would send me candidates that barely, if at all met the qualifications...it was as if they had not even listened to what I had asked for. They charge you a ridiculous amount for their placement fee and they really do nothing else besides send you some candidates and a bunch of forms and attachments for you to do all the legwork. Yes, they do background checks and such, but for the price they charge to place someone with you they should be doing much more of the legwork (employee agreement, tax and payroll set-up, etc). I have never worked with an agency that charges such an exorbitant amount in fees and basically does nothing in return. You would be much better served going somewhere else or posting your own ad and doing the background checks yourself. Using them will NOT save you any time or work.

I am a nanny who has been placed through Town and Country Resources, San Francisco Branch. I would like to respond to some of the negative feedback it has gotten on this website. First, Town and Country makes it their number one duty to weed out uneligable candidates for hire. I have referred two of my friends to them who have both been turned down due to lack of experience. The fact that they turn down so many applicants shows how much work they truly do for the clients: it would be painstaking to weed out so many inelligable candidates to find only a few who seem to have any real experience. It is possible that the reason some families don't seem to like anyone who is sent to them for an interview because the pool of available candidates happens to be small that month, or the terms which the clients have provided are not desirable for the highly experienced and sought-after candidates. So, if you are unhappy with the service, Good luck finding a nanny on Craigslist!

I wanted to write a review for Town and Country because I was so pleased with their service and am still grateful for their placement. I am a nanny who was placed with a great family through their service about a year ago. While T&C sent me on lots of interviews, they were able to find the family that was just perfect for me. They were patient with me, listened to all of my questions or concerns, were quick to respond, and were genuinely friendly people. They seemed to care a lot about getting people in positions that fit them. Also, the process was so easy from the candidate perspective. Instead of visiting the office many times, I went for one big interview. After that, I was given my family interviews through phone and email. I was only sent on interviews with families that fit my specific, personal criteria. I believe I fit the families' criteria as well. The service seems to operate like a well-oiled machine. I will use them again if the need arises (although I'm so happy with my family, I have no plans to leave!), and I pass their name on to anyone who is looking either for a job or a caretaker!

We used Town & Country to find a full-time nanny/housekeeper as well as someone else to help with babyistting on weekends. Both nannies are TERRIFIC and I am quite sure we could not have found anyone half as good without using an agency. The staff at T & C was (and continues to be) very friendly, helpful and responsive during and after the hiring process. The really listened to our needs and delivered exactly what we wanted!
