Oh yeah, one more thing, sometimes when they were really busy, they admitted that they only fed my dogs once a day (just doubled the amount of food) rather than twice a day (which they usually do). I was not happy about this, especially since I was not informed that this would happen ahead of time, only after the fact.

This is the only place that I know of that has the dogs playing freely 24 hours a day. I used to take my dogs here a lot, but have since decided that I don't feel comfortable enough with them to leave my dogs there anymore. And this is because they do not seem to have enough staff to handle the number of dogs they have, especially at night. The staff also do not seem to be very well trained.
That said, my dogs mostly seemed to have a good time there. The dogs are kept inside a large warehouse that is divided into two large play areas, one for small dogs and the other for large dogs.
As far as I could tell there was generally only one person there at night. So the dogs were not under constant supervision. And that person has to go up to the front when someone comes to pick up or drop off their dog, so sometimes they are not even in the area to hear if there is a problem.
The worries I have about improper supervision are both because I've never seen more than one person there at night when I went to pick up my dogs, even when I went to the back where the dogs were kept. Also, one time they could not find my small dog for about 15 minutes - how well could they have been watching him if they couldn't even find him? And once I had to go to the back to help identify my dog because they couldn't figure out which one he was.
My worries about improper training stem from employees bringing my dogs to me when they were barely under control. The employees never seemed to understand that dogs on leashes should be kept away from each other to avoid fights (the entering dogs and leaving dogs have to walk right past each other). Also, once, they brought my dog out to me with his collar fastened improperly.
I no longer take my dogs to Spots. I have decided that this concept could work if they hired more staff and trained them better. But I think that even with these changes it would only work for some dogs. I feel that my dogs are happiest at a place where they can play with other dogs all day and then sleep in a kennel together at night. Most cagefree places will let multiple-dog families sleep together.
