Lisa Chu has been my piano teacher ever since I was five years old, and I have learned so much from her. She is very patient, although she can be strict, especially when dealing with children that misbehave and do not pay attention. Every year I seem to go through the same but necessary preparations by Lisa Chu. I have learned a lot from these events and she has helped me with all of them. Firstly, every year she holds one or two piano recitals-- one in the summer and one in the winter. These are very organized recitals with children from elementary to college, showing off all their talents through songs with ranging difficulty. Another big event each year, which many students participate and win in, is the US Open Competition which is in February in Oakland. I have also attended and won these a few times. Lastly, I always prepare for the CM Piano Theory test. This is a yearly test which students can take in order to learn more about the technique and composition of music. Once one passes level 10, he or she is qualified to be a teacher. Every year we are well-prepared for this, and Lisa always is ready to help me answer any questions I have. Lisa is Chinese but has a variety of students, from Indian to Vietnamese. I highly recommend this teacher, for I have known her since I was a little girl, and I think that she is a great teacher.
