We love Shoreline. There's the lake where you can get on a paddle boat, canoe, kayak or sailboat, or learn to windsurf. There are great walking trails where you can spot owls nesting, and where your kids can learn to ride their bikes. Lots of picnic areas under trees, and a "ship" play structure with sand box that's very popular. Just beware of the goose poop on your way over to the ship.

There's also Michael's restaurant, which hosts formal occasions, and the informal Shoreline cafe for a quick bite or leisurely lunch outside. They also have a dedicated room for kids' birthday parties. My daughter had her party there last year and they did a great job catering for the kids and adults. The price included paddle boat usage, the room and the food (choice of finger food or real meals all round; we went with finger food). All I had to do was bring the cake and balloons (although they will get the cake for you if you prefer.)

Shoreline Park is wondeful for kids. They have a play structure, miles of walking and biking paths, a kite flying area, and a restaurant (Michael's) and a small cafe for lunch. Perhaps most appealing to my kids is the lake where you can rent pedal boats, canoes, etc. Make sure to wear sunscreen and a hat, it is hard to find shade!
