We hired Padilla Pool Remodeling to resurface our pool, including replacing the tiles and the underground filter system with a Polaris system. When we met with Ed Padilla, the project was to take no longer than 2 weeks. It's 5 weeks later and still not complete. We have had nothing but trouble getting help out to finish the project.
They have sent people out 3 times to install the Polaris and it still doesn't work. The first time they didn't have a time clock and decided to do no work. The second time they pulled someone off the job before it was done and he actually tapped into the wrong pipe for the pool sweep. He was supposed to return the next morning but did not. When I called and complained, they sent someone out to finish the job but he never hooked up the unit and tested it. It still doesn't work. Additionally, they took all the boxes with instructions and warranties so we couldn't trouble shoot it ourselves.
The resurfacing is okay but the contours around the pool light and some of the remaining outlets is questionable. They chipped more than a dozen of the existing coping tiles when removing the old tile to be replaced, including one tile that has a large piece missing and is very sharp. I left a message for Mr. Padilla requesting he call me regarding these issues but have not heard back from him. I would in no way recommend them to anyone. They no-showed on at least 3 appointments and some of the people they send out are definitely incompetent.

We have gotten several bids and called several references on a very large pool remodel (resurfacing, re-tiling, coping, deck, and plumbing). We met with Lifetime, and had the impression that they were not reliable. Padilla Pools in San Jose came up on top in both price and their recommendations list; we haven't completed the project, but would recommend them based on what information we have found out so far.
