My daughter did the art and dance camps last summer. The teacher didn't seem that qualified. She also would lend out tap shoes, you had to get there early, or your kid wouldn't get the right size. Then they had the kids swim in the afternoon. Um, I thought it was art and dance camp, not swim camp. With the tragedy at Great America, a recent event, it was very worrisome as a parent.

She also did the puppet making class. So the 5th and last day where they were to assemble the puppets and have a show, the teacher called in sick. No sub, no nothing. My daughter was very bummed.

Our daughter began tennis lessons through Los Gatos parks and rec. department when she was 5. She continued through 9 years old and is now on a competitive team. We were so impressed by their patience, how they focus on the children during their session and not only teach hand-eye coordination, but also rules of the game.

The instructors are also competitors in their own age range (mainly high school and college students).

We have a son who is 4 now and will enroll him next year.

My son is entering Kindergarten this Fall, so he was one of the youngest participants. Most of the weekly camps had children from Kindergarten through 5th grade all at one camp. I wished it had been broken up with grades k-2 in one camp, and 3-5 in another. Being with the older kids was a bit overwhelming for him.
