I loved so much about this camp - YSI is loacted in vasona park permanently, and has nice buildings of items to view and handle that support their camp topics. they had good counselors with excellent college backgrounds and who were enthusiastic. down-time involved nice hikes, lunch near the lake and other options and games. the science info was fabulous - and they did nice, challenging and informative art and science projects to explore each topic. my only negatives were distance to drive there and it's HOT in L.G.

It was a water camp but very little water play ensued. It was the most expensive camp we did this summer and we definitely did not get what we paid for. One day they watched a video.

This a great fun way to introduce kids to science in a fun way. Gets them involved with nature and they do hiking in a park. My daughter got over her fear of bugs and insects and would point out bugs and other plants by name when we were outside. Teachers don't exude as much warmth as other camps . It is only 3 hours long for KG....which may not be enough time.
