My son participated in La Petite Baleen's swim lessons. We were so impressed with their program that we drove from Menlo Park to San Bruno once per week for a 30-min. lesson. They offer group lessons only and have an organized approach with different levels and skills defined for each step along the way. Your child earns ribbons as they complete each level. The indoor pool is very warm and great for year-round lessons. The teachers all follow the same program so I always felt like we had an experienced instructor. La Petite Baleen also has a swim school in Half Moon Bay.
