This is a great find that you'll be really pleased to know about. They do original hems on trousers for $14 and a regular hem for $5. Yes, you did read that right: $5!!!! The work is good, they're quick and thorough. There's tons of parking next door - right by an interesting Middle Eastern market that has great cooked lamb and chicken.

This little storefront is not much to look at, but they will hem your pants -- and jeans -- for $5. Service is a bit brusque, but there are curtain-equipped fitting rooms, and the fitters take their time pinning the hems to make sure you get the length you want. Turn-around time is two days or so, workmanship is precise, and as an added bonus, there's a Persian market and deli next door. It's on a little-traveled part of Castro St. (across El Camino from downtown Mountain View) -- but well worth the trip.
