I have used VRBO a couple times and have always found that the people I am dealing with are pleasant and willing to share their homes. they usually want to talk with you over the phone to get a sens of who you are and if you will treat their vacation home well. There are a LOT of condos, but if you shuffle thru those, some ultra cute little cabins are available in pretty much every area of the US.
