Our daughter was enrolled in this program. I found Lisa Chu to be intolerant and difficult to deal with. Our daughter was extremely stressed by her interactions with Dr. Chu. Lisa is on her third career and I can see why the other two did not work out.

Our kid was enrolled in this program and our experience was not great. On the one hand, the program has a wonderful and supportive parent community and Lisa Chu, the teacher, is a competent violin player. On the other hand, Lisa is very expensive, a rigid disciplinarian (think long notes about which socks to wear and complicated waiver forms about her absolute right to decide stuff) and has very little rapport with the children. Watching her yank kids around on stage during concerts is funny and a little sad. The attrition of the program is about three families per year and is largely due to Lisa's fights with parents that end up affecting the kids. Overall, I think that you can find a friendlier and more talented violin teacher for a lot less money and, in the process, you can save yourself some headaches.

We dropped out of the program after a large investment of money and time. The program is extremely rigid and my then 4 year old couldn't come close to Dr. Chu's high standards. We as parents were made to feel as if we had failed. This program is not for every family and every child and Dr. Chu will be the first person to admit that.
