This store is expensive, even the not so specialty items, but it has the best cheese selection I've seen and wonderful prepared foods if you're looking to just grab lunch.

Draeger's is family owned and operates three stores, one in Los Altos, one in Menlo Park on University Drive and the largest store in San Mateo on Fourth Ave. They have some of the most knowledgeable staff with wines and cheeses as some of their specialties. They are always willing to help...

Whenever you need wine help, go talk to Norman in the wines department at Draegers in Los Altos. He has excellent knowledge and will always spend time considering choices with you. He also has a great sense of humor. No question is too strange or silly for him. Draegers also a number of wines from Europe and Australia that are hard to find, and actually not expensive, so be sure to go and browse their aisles.
