"I stored my car for months while traveling. It was safe in the back of the driveway in this residential area. The house is tucked away on a dead end, so not much traffic but close to major roads. I took a short Lyft ride to the Milford train station to get to and from NYC. Nancy communicated well and was available to coordinate drop off and pick up arrangements in a timely manner, respectful and responsible. It was a good first experience with Neighbor. "

"We kept our car in the driveway. We were very grateful to Dan and her mom for keeping it safe. When the battery was dead at pickup, Dan's mom loaned us her portable charger/air compressor which was very kind. 4/5 stars for slow response time (24 hrs+)."

Choosing a Storage Unit

If you're looking for a car storage unit in Ansonia, Connecticut, you'll likely be considering residential car storage options. Here are some important factors to consider when selecting the right car storage space:

  • Accessibility: Consider the location and accessibility of the unit, including the ease of access for you and for potential renters.
  • Space & Size: Consider the size and layout of the space and make sure it’s large enough to comfortably fit your car.
  • Security: Evaluate the security features of the space, such as locks, lighting, and neighboring homes, to ensure your car is safe and secure.
  • Cleanliness & Climate: Look for a unit that is clean and well-maintained, and evaluate the climate of the space to make sure it provides adequate protection against the elements.

Climate Considerations

Ansonia, Connecticut is a great place to rent outdoor car storage. The warm summers and mild winters make it a great option year round. Depending on the time of year and the type of vehicle, outdoor storage can be the best option.

For cars, outdoor storage can be beneficial in the summertime. The average high temperature in the summer is around 85ºF, which means the interior of the car will stay much cooler than in an indoor storage facility. Additionally, the sun's UV rays can help keep the paint looking fresh and new.

For classic cars, outdoor storage may be beneficial during the winter months. The average low temperature in the winter is around 18ºF, which is much warmer than indoor storage. This mild environment helps protect the exterior from extreme temperatures, which can damage paint and other materials.

When storing any car outdoors, there are a few precautions that should be taken. Make sure to keep the car clean and waxed on a regular basis to protect the exterior. Additionally, be sure to cover the car with a tarp or canvas material to help protect from rain, snow and sun damage. Investing in a high-quality car cover is also a great idea.
