What people say about renting outdoor car storage on Neighbor

40 x 12 Driveway in Auburn, Massachusetts

Verified Review

"Michael is amazing to do business with. He is very accommodating, extremely honest and helpful. The space itself is in a quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. There are some tire track pads down to help guide you where the spot is and also could be very helpful if heavy rainfall has occurred. There is a bit of the curb (3-4 inches) that you need to clear to access the spot; so it will be best if your vehicle is not low profile. If you find yourself in need of a rental space to put your vehicle or a new home to put you and your vehicle; I give my highest recommendation to Michael Dagilis/Property Partners Real Estate."

Types of Car Storage

Wethersfield offers car owners a convenient way to store their vehicles outdoors. Those looking for car storage may also want to consider the benefits of indoor and covered car storage options.

  • Indoor car storage offers the highest level of protection and privacy, such as private garages and secure storage facilities.
  • Outdoor car storage is typically more affordable, but less secure. Examples include parking lots and driveways.
  • Covered car storage offers protection from the elements and some security, such as carports and parking garages.

Choosing a Storage Unit

When choosing an outdoor car storage unit, there are several important factors and considerations to take into account. Here are a few of the main things to consider before making a decision:

  • Location: Choose an outdoor storage unit that is close to where the car will primarily be used. This will provide the most convenience and save time and money.
  • Security: Look for a storage unit that provides adequate security such as a lock or fence.
  • Size: Choose an outdoor storage unit that can easily house your car, as well as any additional items you may want to store.
  • Conditions: Check the conditions of the outdoor car storage unit, as it will need to be able to protect your car from the elements.

Climate Considerations

When looking to rent outdoor car storage in Wethersfield, Connecticut, there are a few considerations to keep in mind. The climate and weather in the area vary significantly throughout the year, with average high temperatures in peak summer around 80°F and average low temperatures in peak winter around 20°F. Outdoor car storage can be beneficial when storing certain types of vehicles, such as sports cars and classic cars, as they are best protected when parked in open air. To further protect these types of cars, it is important to cover them with a waterproof car cover and, during the winter, to make sure the cover is not too tight to allow for air circulation and prevent dampness. Additionally, applying a wax coating can help protect the car's finish from the sun's UV rays, and adding a reflective sun shade to the windshield can reduce interior temperature fluctuations.

FAQs about outdoor car storage in Wethersfield

On average a Neighbor outdoor car storage unit in Wethersfield costs $103 per month.

15x15 spaces are the most frequently booked outdoor car storage type in Wethersfield.

Motorcycles and other small vehicles generally require a 5x10 storage space while most cars and trucks will fit within a 10x20. For larger trailers, RVs, and other vehicles you will likely need to pull out the measuring tape as they can require anywhere from 10x40 to 20x60 spaces. Residential driveways offer a range of sizes and are typically affordable and convenient.

We recommend climate controlled storage for most electronics, collectibles, personal items (books, clothing, and photos), and sensitive materials (glass, leather, and metal).

If you live in a dry climate, climate control isn't as much of a concern, though you should still consider temperature's effect on your items.

If you expect freezing temperatures during the period that you plan to store your vehicle, you should definitely consider winterizing your vehicle before storing to prevent unecessary harm to your vehicle.
