Store in my crawl space. 6 foot high ceiling, accessed by a short ladder through a trapdoor. Anything being stored must fit through the 24"x30" trapdoor opening. Primitive conditions: dirt floors but covered with thick plastic sheeting and vents open to outside air that allows dirt and occasionally rain in. For maximum security against elements and pests, store in plastic, especially locking plastic totes, where feasible. I have stored seasonal clothes, decorations, camping gear, etc. down there with little problems if I store right. Not climate controlled. Cannot be accessed from outside.
