Odds are, once you see how you are spending your time in clear, black-and-white, you are going to be eager to make a change. It can be distressing at first to see how much time you are wasting aimlessly watching TV or just surfing the internet when you could be doing more productive things. But don’t worry! Most people prefer getting their most challenging tasks done first thing in the morning, while others like to wait until late at night. Let’s say you have to finish reviewing a long proposal. It should take less than an hour, so set a timer to go off in an hour. If you are still working on the project when the timer goes off, get up and go for a quick walk or maybe grab a cup of coffee before returning to the task with fresh eyes.
