It depends, but rest assured that you’ll always have a spot, regardless of the host you rent from! While most of our hosts will assign a designated parking space to each renter, for in/out parking, select parking operators will have renters park in whichever spot is available on that day/time.

Most hosts will specify whether EV charging is offered in the “About this space” section of the listing. If EV charging isn't specifically mentioned in the listing description, it’s still possible this is an on-site amenity. You are more likely to find EV charging in enclosed parking garages and commercial parking.

It depends on the space’s height restrictions and the host’s policy on oversized vehicles!

Many commercial parking garages impose restrictions on oversized fleet vehicles. If that is the case, these hosts will specify in the “vehicle restrictions” section of the listing that they don’t allow oversized vehicles, so be sure to review the listing description carefully before submitting a reservation request.

Even if oversized vehicles aren’t specifically prohibited, certain height restrictions may prevent you from parking an oversized vehicle, like a delivery van, in a commercial parking garage or private residential garage. If the garage’s height restrictions aren’t posted in the “About this space” section of the listing, you can contact your host via our in-platform messaging system for more information.

On Neighbor, payment is hassle-free! Just create a Neighbor account and connect your preferred payment method (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover cards are all accepted). Once you select a space and submit a reservation request, a preauthorization hold will be placed on the funds in your account until the reservation is approved. Once approved, your card will be charged immediately. Thereafter, you’ll be charged on the first day of each successive monthly rental period. Most reservations are renewed on the same day each month (E.g., if a reservation started on the fifth day of the month, you’ll be charged on the fifth day of each successive month). Once you’ve removed your items and cancelled online, automatic payments will stop.

When you find the right space, click "Reserve space" to submit your request. You'll be prompted to enter what you're storing, a preferred start date, and your payment information.

Hosts have 24 hours to respond to your request. If you rent an instant-book space, your reservation will automatically be approved. Otherwise, you’ll be notified via email, SMS, and push notifications (if you have the Neighbor app) when a host responds to your pending request. Currently, 16 locations in The Acreage are instant-book.

Yes! To make sure you get the space you want, we recommend submitting a reservation request ASAP. However, we understand that sometimes you need a few more details before you’re ready to place a reservation. In that case, reach out to your host via Neighbor Messages — a safe, secure platform designed specifically for hosts and renters to communicate.

Once your reservation is approved, you’ll receive all the details needed for a successful move-in via email, including the exact listing address. Note that some commercial locations will automatically display the listing address prior to approval.

From there, all that’s left to do is to schedule a move-in time. You can refer to your host’s move-in calendar (if available) or reach out to the host at your convenience via Neighbor’s in-platform messaging system: Neighbor Messages. Here, you can set a date and time that works for your schedule.

If you rent a space in a parking garage or parking lot with an access control system, your host will issue you a key code or key fob. That way, you can come and go at your convenience.
