"We parked our RV and truck on Orlando's land for several months. He was friendly and accommodating when we arrived, and so easy to work with. He responded the day of to our request, which was helpful given travel plans. He was flexible with where to park on his land, and we felt very welcome. The neighborhood is very calm, and there is a gas station a few minutes down the road which can be helpful if you are storing an RV. Overall, we had a positive first experience with Neighbor and if/when we should need storage in the area, we would certainly work with Orlando again."

Types of RV storage

An RV, whether it's a travel trailer, motorhome, or a pop-up camper, is not just a vehicle but a cherished investment. The condition of your recreational vehicle often determines the quality of the adventures you embark on. Therefore, ensuring your RV is securely and properly stored when not in use in Rio Rico, Arizona is a wise decision.

Now, depending on your specific needs and the type of RV you own, there are a few storage options you can consider:

Outdoor Storage: Suitable for all kinds of RVs, outdoor storage spaces offer a simple and cost-effective solution. Think of open lots, driveways, or unused pieces of land. These spaces provide plenty of room for larger motorhomes and fifth wheels. The ample sunlight in Rio Rico can keep your RV warm and dry, preventing damage caused by moisture and mold.

Covered Storage: A step up from outdoor storage, covered storage solutions provide your camper with a roof overhead. These spaces could be carports, or other canopy-type structures. They offer protection against Rio Rico’s bright sunshine and occasional rainfall. This type of storage can extend the lifespan of your RV's exterior and tires by protecting them from the elements.

Indoor Storage: If you're seeking maximum protection for your high-end motorhome or vintage travel trailer, indoor storage solutions should be your go-to. These are essentially enclosed spaces, such as residential garages or commercial buildings. While they may require a bit more effort to secure, they provide an excellent shield from weather elements, dust, and potential vandalism incidents. Your RV will be well-protected, just as if it was parked right at your doorstep in Rio Rico.

Remember, the right storage option for you depends on the type of RV you own, the conditions it needs to be kept in, and your personal preferences.

Choosing outdoor RV storage

Selecting an outdoor storage spot for your RV, travel trailer, or motorhome in beautiful Rio Rico, Arizona, requires a keen consideration of various factors. These aspects include, but are not limited to, the size of the storage area, access to the storage location, and the proximity of the storage site to your residence.

  • Location of Storage: Safety and proximity are key when deciding on an outdoor storage location for your RV. Look for a place that is close to home or a convenient location you frequently travel from. Ensuring it's in a secure neighborhood will bring peace of mind knowing your motorhome is safe.
  • Access to Storage Unit: It's important to ensure that you have convenient access to the storage site during hours that work for you. Whether your adventures begin at the break of dawn or end late at night, having unrestricted access to your camper is essential. Check for any restrictions that might be on the site.
  • Dimension of the Space: In addition to storing your RV, travel trailer or motorhome, you might need extra space for related accessories or additional outdoor equipment. Measure your vehicle and account for extra space to ensure you can easily park and retrieve your RV without any hassle. The dimensions of the storage space should accommodate your RV and your needs.

Climate considerations

Climate plays a significant role in determining the protection and preservation of your recreational vehicle. In Rio Rico, Arizona, the peak summer temperature can rise to an average high of 98°F, which can impact your motorhome’s exterior and interior components. Therefore, considering a UV-resistant cover to protect your RV from intense sunlight and heat is advisable.

During winter, the temperature can drop to an average low of 39°F. During these colder months, a quality, weatherproof cover for your travel trailer will protect it from cold winds and frost. This cover can prevent damage to your RV's plumbing system caused by freezing temperatures.

Remember, each type of RV, be it a pop-up camper, a fifth wheel, or a different type, might require specific attention and tools for proper protection and storage, depending on its make and model.
