30 x 20 Unpaved Lot in Villa Rica, Georgia

Verified Review

"Excellent storage area and host. Brad was available every time I had to pick-up and drop-off my trailer and was quick to respond to messages. The location is far enough from the main road to be safe and secluded while not being a burden to get to, and there are two locked gates between the road and the lot. Brad was nice enough to mow the grass where I was putting my trailer and allowed me to bring some pavers to keep the tires out of the dirt. Would highly recommend this space as there is a lot of room even for a very large trailer/RV/camper."

Types of RV storage

Renting RV storage in Jacksonville, Alabama can be an excellent solution for those who need a place to keep their travel trailer, camper, or motorhome when not in use. This picturesque city provides a variety of options to suit various needs and preferences, including indoor, covered, and outdoor storage spaces.

  • Covered RV storage: This type of storage comes in the form of canopies or roof-only structures. Located in places like residential backyards or commercial parking lots, this option gives your RV some protection from the elements, such as rainfall, which is a common occurrence in Jacksonville. Having your camper under a covered storage can mitigate potential weather-related damages.
  • Outdoor RV storage: Usually available in open fields, farmland, or spacious backyards, outdoor storage is more straightforward and affordable. It's an excellent choice if your motorhome is weather-resistant or if you live in Jacksonville neighborhoods known for their calm weather. However, remember that much as this type of storage provides ample space for any RV size, it lacks the robust weather protection found in other types of storage.
  • Indoor RV storage: Indoor storage options include residential garages, spacious barns, and even commercial warehouses. These locations offer the best protection from Alabama's varied weather conditions, keeping your RV safe from potential damage. Indoor storage in Jacksonville is ideal if you own a high-end travel trailer or motorhome that requires additional protection when it's not taking you on your next adventure.

Choosing the best RV storage

In Jacksonville, Alabama, finding the right storage space for your RV, travel trailer, or camper can be made simpler by considering a few key elements. Here are important factors to keep in mind when it comes to size, access, and location.

  • Consideration of Size: It's paramount to measure your RV, travel trailer, or motorhome to understand the minimum space you'll require. Keeping in mind not just the dimensions of the vehicle, but also factoring in room for easy access and potential additional storage needs.
  • Accessibility Factors: Does the storage site offer convenient hours for you to access your camper? Always check the hours of operation to confirm they align with your schedule. Also, consider how easy it is to drive in and out—a spacious, well-structured layout can make maneuvering larger vehicles much simpler.
  • Location Importance: Proximity could play a significant role in your decision. Look for a storage location near your home or along your frequent travel routes. In addition, assess the safety of the location. A storage site in a safe, well-lit area can give you peace of mind that your motorhome is secure when you're not using it.

Climate considerations

Storing an RV, travel trailer, or camper in Jacksonville, Alabama, requires careful consideration of the elements. In peak summer, the average high temperature can reach 91°F, which can cause damage to tires and interiors if left unprotected. It's recommended to use protective covers designed for RVs, ensuring they're breathable to prevent condensation buildup.

In the chilly peak winter months, the average low temperature can dip to 33°F. Pipes and water tanks in your motorhome can freeze, leading to significant damage. Use antifreeze in the plumbing systems, and consider a climate-controlled storage space to keep the temperature steady.

Remember, whether it's a scorching summer or a frosty winter, it's all about safeguarding your recreational vehicle from the harsh weather conditions.
