"FANTASTIC hosts while our 45ft, 5th wheel was on their lot. Not only is it a large, fenced in lot but their house is on the property. They have everything locked and if needed, provide the code to get in. They were so wonderful with us, we had many trips to make to unload items, they always had the gate opened and ready for us to come in. Just the best experience and highly recommend. "

"Nice spot and in a convenient location. Alex was great and very responsive and willing to help. Didn’t have any issues. The space is a little tricky to get in/out of, but we were able to maneuver our 40” fifth wheel in/out without a problem. Great spot to store an RV. "

Types of RV storage

Finding the right storage solution for your RV, travel trailer, or motorhome in Fountain Hills, Arizona can be a crucial step towards maintaining your vehicle's longevity and value. Whether you own a grand fifth wheel or a compact pop-up camper, secure and convenient storage rental options are available to fit your needs.

Consider these three primary RV storage options:

  • Outdoor RV Storage: This option is perfect for durable, weather-resistant RVs. Found in residential backyards or commercial lots, these spaces might not offer the maximum protection but they are usually easier to find and offer plenty of space for larger vehicles like fifth wheels or motorhomes. Given Fountain Hills' warm climate, outdoor storage can be a reasonable solution for short-term periods or for those with RVs built to withstand the elements.
  • Covered RV Storage: For those seeking more protection but still want air circulation, a covered storage spot can offer the right balance. These can be found under residential carports or in commercial canopy storage spaces. They provide a good level of protection against harsh sun and rain, essential for maintaining your vehicle's exterior in Fountain Hills' sunny weather.
  • Indoor RV Storage: If you're seeking the highest level of protection, look towards indoor storage options. Spaces like residential garages or large commercial warehouses offer comprehensive shielding against weather and external factors. These facilities, while sometimes more challenging to find, offer excellent security and protection, ideal for preserving your camper, travel trailer, or motorhome in pristine condition. Indoor storage is particularly useful for the hot summer months in Fountain Hills when continuous exposure to intense sunlight could potentially harm your vehicle's exterior.

Choosing the best RV storage

Storing your motorhome, travel trailer, or pop-up camper in Fountain Hills, Arizona involves several important considerations. Let’s delve into the key factors to consider about size, access, and location of your storage space.

  • Storage Space Dimensions: It is crucial to measure your RV meticulously before selecting a storage location. The length, width, and height of your vehicle will determine the minimum space required for safe storage. Keep in mind, you might want extra room to park additional travel essentials or to make maneuvering easier when storing or retrieving your RV.
  • Location Proximity and Safety: When choosing a storage location, consider how often you plan to use your vehicle. If frequent trips are in the plan, a storage location close to home could be ideal. Consider the safety of the neighborhood too. After all, your RV is a significant investment, and you would want it stored in a secure, safe environment.
  • Access Hours and Ease: You'll want to have flexibility and ease when it comes to accessing your RV. Check the access hours of the storage location to ensure they align with your travel schedule. Also, consider the ease of parking and maneuvering your RV within the storage area. The less hassle, the better it is for you, and the less wear-and-tear on your travel trailer or motorhome.

Climate considerations

When considering storage for your RV or travel trailer in Fountain Hills, it's essential to consider the weather throughout the year. During peak summer, the city can see average highs of 104 degrees Fahrenheit, which can lead to potential damage such as tire blowouts and fading exteriors if your camper or motorhome isn't properly protected. A high-quality, UV resistant cover could be your best defense against the sun's damaging rays.

In contrast, winters can be quite chilly, with average lows dipping to around 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Cold weather can potentially cause engine problems and freeze damage in your RV or motorhome. If possible, consider a storage solution with indoor spaces or climate-controlled options to keep your vehicle in pristine condition. An insulated cover might also help protect your travel trailer from the cold weather.

Remember, renting storage isn't just about providing a place for your RV or camper, but also about maintaining its condition for when it's time to hit the road again.
