30 x 20 Unpaved Lot in Villa Rica, Georgia

"Excellent storage area and host. Brad was available every time I had to pick-up and drop-off my trailer and was quick to respond to messages. The location is far enough from the main road to be safe and secluded while not being a burden to get to, and there are two locked gates between the road and the lot. Brad was nice enough to mow the grass where I was putting my trailer and allowed me to bring some pavers to keep the tires out of the dirt. Would highly recommend this space as there is a lot of room even for a very large trailer/RV/camper."

Types of RV storage

In the charming town of Dallas, Georgia, owning a travel trailer, camper, or motorhome provides an incredible opportunity to explore the beauty of the open road. However, finding the right storage for these vehicles can present a unique challenge. Renting an RV storage space is a practical solution, with a variety of options to meet your specific needs.

  • Indoor RV Storage: This type of storage provides the ultimate protection for your RV. Ideal for those who own high-end models like Class A motorhomes or fifth wheels, indoor storage options could be residential garages, large barns, or spacious warehouses. These storage spaces offer comprehensive protection against weather elements, plus the added advantage of maintaining your vehicle's pristine condition, a critical factor especially in Georgia's humid climate.
  • Covered RV Storage: With this option, your RV is shielded from direct sunlight, rain, and snow under a roof. Think of covered parking spaces, carports or even large porches. While it might not offer the same level of protection as an indoor storage, it still provides adequate safeguard against the most damaging aspects of the weather, ensuring your camper or travel trailer stays in good shape for your next adventure.
  • Outdoor RV Storage: The most readily available option, outdoor storage spaces could be open driveways, yards, or other cleared lot spaces. While it might not offer the same level of protection as indoor or covered storage, it does provide the advantage of easy accessibility. An excellent choice for larger RVs or motorhomes, outdoor storage spaces give you the flexibility to park and maneuver your vehicle with ease.

Look around the beautiful city of Dallas, Georgia and you'll discover a variety of residential properties available for RV storage, each equipped to meet different needs, and all set to keep your RV safe and secure when it's not journeying on the road.

Choosing the best RV storage

Finding the perfect storage space for your RV, travel trailer, or motorhome in Dallas, Georgia, starts with understanding your specific storage needs. This includes considering factors like the size of the storage space, its accessibility, and its location.

  • Sizing Up Your Storage Needs: Begin by determining the dimensions of your RV, including its length, width, and height. The storage space you choose should not only accommodate these measurements but also provide ample room for you to comfortably navigate around your vehicle. You might also want to consider enough room for storing any associated gear, like outdoor furniture, bikes, or barbecue grills.
  • Accessing Your RV: Depending on your travel schedule, you may need frequent access to your motorhome. Therefore, consider the access hours of the storage space. If you enjoy spontaneous weekend trips, a storage space with 24/7 access could be ideal. Also, consider the ease of parking and maneuvering your RV within the space.
  • Choosing a Convenient Location: The proximity of the storage space to your home and common travel routes is a significant factor. A location that’s too far might make it inconvenient for regular maintenance checks and spontaneous trips. Furthermore, ensure the area is secure and well-lit, providing peace of mind that your travel trailer is safe.

By weighing these three factors, you can make an informed decision on the best storage space for your RV, ensuring it's safe, accessible, and well-protected when not in use.

Climate considerations

When renting storage for a recreational vehicle in Dallas, Georgia, it's essential to remember the heat. During peak summer months, the average high temperature reaches about 89 degrees Fahrenheit. This heat can damage the RV's exterior and interior, especially if it's a travel trailer or camper without proper insulation. To protect your vehicle, consider using breathable yet waterproof covers that shield against UV rays.

In contrast, the winter months can get quite cold, with an average low temperature of around 29 degrees Fahrenheit. This can potentially lead to issues with freezing and breakage in the RV's water and sewage systems. To combat these challenges, consider a climate-controlled indoor storage space. It's also beneficial to winterize your motorhome, which involves draining all water systems and adding antifreeze.

Whether it's a summer sun or winter freeze, taking these steps will help ensure your RV stays in top shape year-round.
