30 x 20 Unpaved Lot in Villa Rica, Georgia

Verified Review

"Excellent storage area and host. Brad was available every time I had to pick-up and drop-off my trailer and was quick to respond to messages. The location is far enough from the main road to be safe and secluded while not being a burden to get to, and there are two locked gates between the road and the lot. Brad was nice enough to mow the grass where I was putting my trailer and allowed me to bring some pavers to keep the tires out of the dirt. Would highly recommend this space as there is a lot of room even for a very large trailer/RV/camper."

Types of RV storage

Looking for a convenient, secure spot to park your RV, camper, or motorhome in Villa Rica, Georgia? Consider joining the many residents who've discovered the benefits of renting an outdoor storage space right in their own community.

It's an appealing, practical option which opens up a range of possibilities. Not only do these spaces offer the convenience of proximity, but they also provide varying levels of protection against the elements, depending on the type of storage you select.

In Villa Rica, three main types of RV storage options exist. Each has its unique merits:

  • Outdoor RV Storage: These are typically offered in residential and commercial properties. Parking spaces, driveways, or vacant areas in backyards can be converted into outdoor storage areas. The prime benefit of these spaces is their ample size, allowing you to store larger units like motorhomes or fifth wheels. Also, they are often the most affordable choice for those looking to store an RV or travel trailer.
  • Covered RV Storage: This type of storage is usually situated in carports, under large awnings, or even beneath a specially designed roof on a residential property. It provides an added layer of protection against Georgia's sun and rainfall. Your camper or RV will appreciate the shade in summer, and come winter, the cover can protect your vehicle from the harsher elements.
  • Indoor RV storage: Located in larger structures such as garages or warehouses, indoor storage provides the highest level of protection. These storage spaces may be part of a residential property or can be stand-alone structures. Indoor storage is optimal for the cold and inclement weather, offering your travel trailer protection from frost and storms. It also offers added protection from theft or vandalism due to its enclosed nature.

Remember, each type of storage option offers different levels of protection for your RV, motorhome, or travel trailer. Assess the needs of your vehicle and the climate conditions of Villa Rica to find the perfect storage solution for your RV.

Choosing outdoor RV storage

Choosing the right outdoor storage location in Villa Rica, Georgia for your travel trailer, motorhome, or RV involves a careful consideration of various factors. These factors include the size of the storage unit, the ease and convenience of access, and the location of the storage space. Here are more details:

  • Consideration of Size: The dimensions of the storage space are crucial. It should be large enough to accommodate the RV, camper or travel trailer with ease. One must ensure there's adequate room not just for the vehicle itself, but also to move around it freely without causing any damage. Plus, you might also want some extra space for storing equipment, accessories, and other travel essentials that accompany your vehicle.
  • Considering Access: Not all storage units have the same access hours, and this can make a significant difference for RV owners. You'll want to ensure the storage space you select has hours that align with your plans. Of course, unrestricted 24/7 access would be ideal, especially for those spontaneous late-night departures or early morning arrivals. Additionally, the accessibility of the unit itself is important. The storage space should be easy to reach and navigate, allowing for smooth entry and exit of your motorhome, camper, or RV.
  • Location and Safety: The storage location should be reasonably close to your home or your most frequent travel routes for convenience. However, proximity is not the only factor. The safety of the location is also paramount. Areas that are well-lit and regularly monitored can provide an added layer of security for your valuable vehicle. It's also worth considering the neighborhood; storage spaces located in safe, low-crime areas are always a smart choice for peace of mind.

Climate considerations

In Villa Rica, Georgia, the climate conditions throughout the year can pose different challenges for storing your RV. During the peak of summer, the average high temperature can reach up around 90°F. To protect your travel trailer or camper from the intense heat and potentially harmful UV rays, consider using reflective sunshades on the windows and a breathable, weather-resistant cover for the entire vehicle.

As winter sets in, the average low can drop to roughly 30°F. These colder temperatures can cause potential damage to your motorhome, particularly to the plumbing system. To safeguard against this, ensure to winterize your RV appropriately. You may also want to use a thick, insulated cover to provide extra protection from the cold.

Protective covers and careful climate-based precautions can go a long way in maintaining the longevity of your cherished RV throughout the year in Villa Rica.
