"Host was extremely nice and accommodating. Didn’t have any issues once my camper was dropped off. However, the area was difficult to get in and out of (tight streets with cars parked everywhere, a lot of trees and very tight for larger vehicles, campers, rv’s). Overall a decent place to store but expect to hit some tree limbs if you plan to store a camper or rv. "

"Hunter was great, and was more than helpful with moving in and out. No issues contacting him, always answered the call or text. His space is great and I felt comfortable leaving my camper there. Only reason I moved out is because I found something closer home. Hunter thanks again brother. "

Types of RV storage

Looking to secure your RV, motorhome, or travel trailer when it's not in use? Consider the benefits of renting outdoor storage in the vibrant city of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Outdoor RV Storage: This is an excellent affordable option for many RV owners. Available spaces could be open lots, driveways, or backyards. These spaces provide great flexibility and are especially beneficial in Virginia Beach, where the moderate climate reduces the risk of weather damage.

Covered RV Storage: Ideal for protecting your camper or travel trailer from Virginia Beach's occasional storms or the summer sun. These spaces are typically carports, awnings, or purpose-built structures, offering a roof overhead while still providing good airflow.

Indoor RV Storage: If you're looking for top-tier protection, think warehouses, large garages, or oversized sheds. Indoor RV storage provides the ultimate safeguard against the elements. It's an excellent choice if you have a luxury motorhome or a vintage camper and want to keep it in pristine condition, especially during Virginia Beach's wintertime.

Each of these residential storage options offers unique benefits, depending on your specific needs and the type of RV you own.

Choosing outdoor RV storage

Finding the perfect outdoor storage space for your RV, camper, or travel trailer can be a challenge. While numerous factors come into play, some key considerations are the size of the space, its accessibility, and its location.

  • Location Preferences: Virginia Beach is a city with an array of neighborhoods, each with its unique features. When choosing a storage space, consider the proximity to your home and frequently used routes. Also, look into the safety statistics of the neighborhood. This will ensure that you pick a secure and convenient spot not just for your RV, but also for you.
  • Accessibility Factors: The ease of access to your RV storage space plays a significant role in the decision. You want a space that allows you to retrieve and park your motorhome without constraints and according to your schedule. Also, think about the type of access. For instance, is the space easily reachable by large vehicles? Are there any obstructions that could make navigation difficult?
  • Space Dimensions: Lastly, understanding the dimensions of your travel trailer or camper is crucial to selecting the right storage spot. Assess not only the length and width of your vehicle, but also consider its height. Ensure that the chosen space can accommodate these dimensions comfortably. Furthermore, bear in mind that having some extra space for additional travel equipment is always a plus.

By keeping these considerations in mind, you'll be able to select an outdoor storage space that suits your needs perfectly.

Climate considerations

When storing your RV, camper, or motorhome in Virginia Beach, it's important to consider the climate, particularly during our hot summers and cold winters. In the peak of summer, the average high temperature reaches around 87 degrees Fahrenheit. Prolonged exposure to heat and UV rays can cause damage to the exterior of your travel trailer and potentially fade the interior. To protect your RV, consider a high-quality, UV-resistant cover.

We're lucky that Virginia Beach doesn't see extremely cold winters, with the average low temperature only dropping to around 32 degrees Fahrenheit. But don't underestimate the potential damage caused by freezing temperatures. Moisture, condensation, or residual water can freeze, causing damage especially to the plumbing systems. Investing in a good quality, all-weather cover with ventilation can protect your RV from extreme temperature shifts.
