10 x 12 Shed in Memphis, Tennessee

"Lakendrick is very nice and professional¹ and responds quickly. He even honored the price of the unit upon my inquiry as opposed to the $10 increase a week later. I'm sure his unit might have been nice, but I have now been charged through this app fo r 2 months of storage that I have never used. After renting the space and getting the exact location, it turned out to be 25 minutes away from me instead of 10. I had to put my 20 year old dog down the day after renting the space and did not remember to cancel the unit within the 24 hour time frame. I messaged Lakendrick about the situation and distance confusion, assuming he would refund the money since I couldn't use his space. However I have now been charged twice and needed that money to pay for the storage unit i had to get that is closer to my house. "

Types of Storage

Renting a storage unit is an ideal solution for those who need extra space for personal belongings. Storage units provide a secure and convenient way to store possessions for an extended period of time. Here are some of the added benefits of the different storage types:

  • Drive-up – Access your unit quickly and easily without having to leave your car
  • Interior without climate control – Ideal for storing items that are not temperature-sensitive
  • Interior with climate control – Protect valuable items from extreme temperatures and humidity
  • Outdoor parking – Park your vehicle, recreational vehicle or boat in a secure space
  • Specialty self storage – Store non-traditional items such as wine, art, antiques, and other collectibles in a secure environment.

Choosing a Storage Unit

When looking for a storage unit in Memphis, TN, there are many factors to consider. Here are a few of the most important ones:

  • Size: Consider the size of the unit you need, the amount of items you will be storing and the items’ size to make sure your storage unit is large enough.
  • Accessibility: How easy is it to get to the storage unit? Are there any restrictions on the hours that you can access the unit?
  • Security: Look for measures such as locks, security systems, and cameras to make sure your items are safe.
  • Cleanliness: Make sure the unit and the facility are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Location: Consider how close the unit is to you, the surroundings, and how easy it will be to access the unit.

Climate Considerations

When renting a storage unit in Memphis, Tennessee, the climate and weather should be taken into consideration. Climate-controlled storage is usually a good idea for sensitive items like books, electronics, and documents. That being said, non-climate-controlled storage is an often cost-effective solution for less vulnerable items. During peak summer months, the average high temperature can reach into the mid-90s with high humidity. During peak winter months, the average low temperature can reach into the mid-30s.

When storing items in non-climate-controlled storage, it's important to take precautionary steps to protect them. Consider using airtight plastic containers for books and documents. These containers will keep the items safe from both extreme temperatures and humidity. Small appliances and furniture may require extra padding or protection to prevent damage from changes in temperature.

No matter what type of storage unit you choose, it's important to remember that Memphis has a subtropical climate and can be subject to occasional severe weather events, such as storms and floods. You may want to consider purchasing additional insurance to cover any potential damage caused by these events.

In conclusion, when renting a storage unit in Memphis, Tennessee, it's important to consider the climate and weather and the type of items you need to store. Climate-controlled storage is usually recommended for sensitive items, while non-climate-controlled storage can be a cost-effective solution for less vulnerable items. Additional precautionary steps and insurance coverage should also be considered.
