What people say about renting RV storage on Neighbor

40 x 10 Unpaved Lot in Tucson, Arizona

Verified Review

"We parked our RV and truck on Orlando's land for several months. He was friendly and accommodating when we arrived, and so easy to work with. He responded the day of to our request, which was helpful given travel plans. He was flexible with where to park on his land, and we felt very welcome. The neighborhood is very calm, and there is a gas station a few minutes down the road which can be helpful if you are storing an RV. Overall, we had a positive first experience with Neighbor and if/when we should need storage in the area, we would certainly work with Orlando again."

"This was the perfect spot for my semi-long term storage need. Broderick is a good man and an excellent host: Polite to a fault, family-oriented, storage area fully prepared and organized, always reasonably quick to respond to communications, and when our schedules didn't synch he made arrangements to have a family member grant me access, as he wasn't going to be available personally. Overall a very good experience. Highly recommended. Thank you Broderick."

We were stress free during our trip knowing our vehicle was safe and secure. Ryscha was super helpful in accommodating to our medium-term storage needs and coordinating with her for both drop off and pick up was a breeze. Easily the best host in town!"

Types of RV Storage

Vail, Arizona offers a variety of secure and convenient options for RV storage. From indoor garages to outdoor parking lots to covered carports, there is an option for every budget and storage need.

  • Indoor RV storage is the most secure option, but is not climate controlled. Examples of indoor RV storage include large garages, warehouses and self-storage units.
  • Outdoor RV storage is an affordable and open-air option. Examples of outdoor RV storage include parking lots, driveways and private land.
  • Covered RV storage is a great compromise between indoor and outdoor storage. It provides the security of an indoor option with the affordability of an outdoor option. Examples of covered RV storage include carports, sheds, and some garages.

Choosing an RV Storage Unit

When selecting a storage unit for your RV, motorhome, trailer, or camper in Vail, Arizona, there are several key factors to consider.

  • Location: Be sure to choose a location that’s convenient to your home, work, or recreational activities.
  • Size: Make sure that the space you choose is large enough to accommodate your RV, and has enough space for you to access the RV easily.
  • Security: Check that the storage facility is adequately lit and fenced, and has restricted access.
  • Cleanliness: Ensure that the facility is well-maintained, with no debris or other hazards.
  • Accessories: Look for a facility that provides RV-specific amenities, such as material for covering and protecting your RV.

Climate Considerations

When looking to rent storage for a motorhome, camper or trailer in Vail, Arizona, it is important to consider the climate and weather conditions. Peak summer temperatures in Vail typically range from the upper 90s to triple digits, while in the peak winter months, temperatures usually drop to the upper 20s or lower. To protect your vehicle from the extreme temperatures, it is best to rent an indoor storage unit if possible. If outdoor storage is the only option, look for a unit that offers adequate shade and protection from the elements. Additionally, the area is prone to heavy rains and thunderstorms during the summer months, so make sure the facility provides adequate drainage and protection from water damage.

  • Top-notch protection: Several types of RV storage near Vail have protection such as an access code or padlock, while some even offer security cameras or 24/7 surveillance. We have the best, most secure Vail RV storage.
  • If you're storing your RV full-time, the best practice is to start and run your engine once a month.

We have some suggestions for storing a RV long-term, no matter where you live: Prevent rust by fixing any cracks or holes, wash the inside and defrost the fridge, power wash the outside and put on an RV cover, and start and run the engine every month.

When temperatures get into the low 30s, it's a good idea to winterize your RV. First, put antifreeze in the pipes. Second, take out and store batteries and replace A/C filters. Finally, repair any cracks or holes to keep rodents from entering.

It's not recommended to store a RV outside in the winter. Decrease potential damage from weather with a climate-controlled RV storage unit near Vail.

Storing an RV in hot weather means you should take extra safety measures. Wash and wax the exterior; use an RV cover as well as tire and window covers; empty, clean, and defrost the fridge; empty water tanks; and increase circulation by opening air vents.

Rent climate-controlled RV storage to prevent mildew and mold from developing and prevent wood finishes from drying out.

Insurance is recommended for RV storage in Vail. Read your homeowner's or renter's insurance policy to confirm that it covers potential damage or theft while your RV is in storage.
